Commercial Light Shows Ending

Tonight is the last night to use the $3 OFF coupon for Bull Run’s Festival of Lights. That’s where I plan to go after work today.
Hope to visit ICE at the Gaylord tomorrow night on the way home.
Both run through Jan 8.
Brookside Gardens runs through Jan 9.

Happy New Year!
It’s raining here….all the big light displays will be OFF tonight.

Most of the lights on the list are OFF.
I do not have contacts for everyone on the list but,

Two Displays Make Finals in Deck the House Contest

Two of the displays on the list made it to the finals in the Patch Deck-the-House Contest, #28 and #34.
Winner gets $100K for their local schools.
Vote once a day between now and Jan 8 for one of the following:

Last Weekend for Most of the Lights

Most of the displays will be OFF after New Year’s Eve so make sure you get by your favorites before then.
#23 IS ON.

Also, most of the commercial light shows shut down after this weekend with the following exceptions:
Bull Run, Oglebay, Fairfax City and ICE at Gaylord will be ON until Jan 8, and Brookside Gardens until Jan 9.

I’m Back as the Season Winds Down

I’m back at it after a week at home with a bad cold and automobile issues.
Was at #14 Collingwood last night (LOTS of people there) and #35 Fremont. Both are excellent, as usual.
Will be visiting some of the new display submissions tonight and am busy updating the site with photos I’ve taken this year.
Still have not made it by all the displays on the list but have visited most.

This is the last week most of the display will be lit so make sure you visit your favorites.
I will post an update later with what’s on after New Years Eve (only a few).
Hope you’re enjoying the lights.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!
Tonight is a special one for many of the decorators and some will be outside to greet visitors.
Go by your favorites tonight and enjoy the lights.

I’ve been laying low since Wednesday because of my cold. Damned cold!
I hope to visit a couple displays tonight but I won’t say which ones.
But #14 would be a good guess….

Suburban Dads Shock and Awe with Tacky Christmas Lights

Features #17 and #14 as well as a new display on Smallwood, near #23.
I love bringing publicity to the displays on the list.
